The Empty Place

I have come to the empty place where You remain a reflection,

Nothing more than a reflection, ripples in a pool, a fleeting glimpse,

A window with no point of entry.

I have come to the empty place where religion is no consolation,

Where everything is lost to a bottomless sky,

And my soul sings: “Alleluia”.

Finally, I have come to the empty place,

Finally. Alleluia!
